Communication Master Class

Run by some of the best science communicators in the world, this is one of the biggest prizes for all FameLab finalists (top 10 candidates selected from the Ireland regional/video heats). There you will learn why public engagement is important, develop invaluable media and presentation skills, and get the opportunity to network with scientists from many different scientific fields!

The next Ireland communication master class will take place in Dublin in March 2018.

The FameLab Ireland 2017-18 winner will attend the Cheltenham Science Festival, UK in June 2018 and will compete in the FameLab International finals. Here a world of opportunities will really be opened up as you network with fellow scientists from over 30 countries across the globe.

The two runners-up will also have the opportunity to participate in a UK science festival during 2018.

Other Opportunities

All FameLab Ireland candidates will meet other science enthusiasts, gain access to FameLab networks and develop their science communication skills (sci-comms training at regional heats).

FameLab finalists will be invited to take part in science public engagement events in Ireland and internationally. To date, Irish alumni have been involved in various national initiatives including Science Week, Festival of Curiosity, TYExpo, Sci:Com, as well as events across the globe including in the UK, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, South Korea and the USA.
