APPLICATIONS FOR FILM25 ARE NOW CLOSED.
British Council and Co-operation Ireland are working in partnership to deliver Film25, a joint initiative to mark the 25th anniversary of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement by documenting the personal reflections of those from across Northern Ireland, Ireland and the wider UK who are 25 in 2023, which is twenty-five years after the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement was signed.
Film25 will gather twenty-five year olds from across Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales to contribute their personal response to and reflections on the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. Through digital self-recordings and group workshops/discussions, Film25 will capture these responses in a short film.
What’s involved? Our ask is that you:
- Volunteer your thoughts, reflections and feelings on the significance of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement to your life, and to the lives of your peers across the island of Ireland and the wider UK.
- Participate in two workshops/group discussions. When completing the application form you will be asked to select which date(s) work for you for each of these workshops, all of which are provisionally scheduled for late February/early March 2023. The outline of these workshops are as follows:
Workshop 1 Virtual, date TBC based on availability Bringing participants together as a group, getting to know one another and sharing personal sense of the agreement's impact amongst the group. Workshop 2 In-person (Dublin), date TBC based on availability A collaborative discussion and exchange, reflecting on the experiences of sharing reflections on Workshop 1. N.B: All costs relating to the in-person workshop will be covered by British Council and Co-operation Ireland.
- Self-record a piece to camera, through your own phone/tablet/laptop, capturing your personal response/reaction to the Agreement, following the workshops and the conversations, explorations and understanding we intend those discussions to create. All required technical guidance and support will be provided, and your footage will be part of the 3-minute short film production process.
