Pint of Science returns, bringing some of the most brilliant scientists in Ireland to local pubs across towns and cities in May 2019 (Athlone, Birr, Cork, Dublin, Dundalk, Galway, Limerick and Waterford). They will discuss their latest research and findings and there will be a wide range of topics to appeal to all tastes:
Beautiful Mind - neuroscience, psychology and psychiatry
Atoms to Galaxies - physics, chemistry, maths, astronomy
Our Body - medicine, human biology, health
Planet Earth - geosciences, plant sciences, zoology
Tech Me Out - biotechnology, robotics, computers
Our Society - law, history, politics, policy, languages
You don't need any prior knowledge, and this will be a great chance to meet some of the people responsible for the future of science (and have a pint with them!)
Pint of Science Ireland will run from 20-22 May 2019 and will feature some of our top FameLab Ireland alumni. Provisional details include:
Michel Destrade and 'The Mechanics of Brain'
Ronaldo do Amaral and ‘Regenerative Medicine'
Jennifer Lorigan and ‘Neurological Disorders'
Ana Panagassi and 'Horrible Histories in Women's Health'
Dr Fiona Malone and ‘Building bio-simulators for better medical devices'
