In association with the Dublin Fringe Festival, we're thrilled to welcome Scottee to Dublin this August for a mentorship programme with some brilliant Fringe artists, as well as a public workshop at FRINGE LAB.

Festival Director Ruth McGowan says, 'I invited Scottee to come to Dublin as an artistic mentor because he is a hero. He is a radical, thoughtful artist who is changing the game in the UK and beyond. I look forward to the results of the conversations he has with these three exciting Irish companies. And I would encourage artists to book a place for his brilliant evening workshop at FRINGE LAB while you can – it might just change your life!'

FRINGE LAB Mentorship

Each year, Fringe invites an artist of note to work with three emerging companies as a mentor in advance of their premieres at the festival in September in a scheme facilitated by FRINGE LAB. This year we are thrilled to welcome Scottee to Dublin to work with three festival artists who will premiere new work at Fringe 2018: Glitter HOLE (The Fianna Fellatio Party Launch); Sarah Gordon & Alice Malseed (BILLY) and Femme Bizarre (CAGED).

Making Stuff About Stuff: Workshop with Scottee

@ FRINGE LAB, 16 August 2018, 6.30pm

Scottee invites artists, thinkers and makers with ideas above their station or an axe to grind, with stuff they want to get off their chest and willing to shout from the rooftops to join him for an evening workshop, supported by Dublin Fringe Festival and the British Council.

Making Stuff About Stuff explores making short performance, variety, theatre and live art about stuff that matters – politics, sex, sexuality, gender, poverty, race, class, identity and then some! Create politically motivated work, devise activist art, socially engaged stuff, ideas generation and discover how to harness the fire in your belly. This isn’t a workshop where you’ll roll around the floor crying, pretending to be a tree. Come if you've got something to say, stay at home if you've never felt left out.

'Scottee plied us with creative fertiliser and now there are a whole lot of arty seeds growing. I can’t wait to nurture them with the excellent tools that he gave us. A thoroughly professional, useful, thoughtful and FUN creative journey.'

To apply for Making Stuff About Stuff, email programming@fringefest.com before 13 August 2018 with a short introduction to yourself.
