British Council Ireland are delighted to support this Dance and Ecology workshop with choreographer Rosemary Lee, who will be sharing her thoughts about making dance work for outdoor sites, illustrated with stills and film extracts of her past works over the last decade. She will touch on themes of dance, nature and community and explore what makes dance unique in its potential to strengthen our engagement with the natural environment. After her presentation she will lead a workshop outdoors focusing on attentiveness and connectivity, followed by a chance for participants to discuss and share thoughts together.
This workshop will be supported by a series of wrap-around community activities led by DL.BRIDGE Artist Katy Hewison in collaboration with Rosemary Lee and Learning and Engagement Facilitator Aoife Doherty from Limerick City Gallery of Art. These activities will engage focus groups from the local community in Limerick who will look at responses to the Global Youth Climate Letter and engage with broader questions of climate action and community.
The Dance and Ecology Workshop with Rosemary Lee is co-organised as part of the Youth Connect programme of the British Council. Presented in partnership with Dance Ireland.
