British Council Ireland are delighted to be partnering with Scottish Goverment in Ireland and Welsh Goverment in Ireland to bring the premiere screening of Taigh/Tŷ/Teach to Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin, on Wednesday 18 September 2024.

In celebration of the European Day of Languages, and in recognition of linguistic diversity on these islands, British Council Ireland, Scottish Government in Ireland and Welsh Government in Ireland are hosting a drinks reception and premiere screening of Taigh/Tŷ/Teach, a tri-lingual co-production by Fishamble Theatre, Theatre Gu Leòr and Theatr Bara Caws on 18 September 2024.

This world premiere screening of site-specific theatre, performed in the Scottish Highlands, North Wales and West of Ireland was written by Màiri Morrison (Scotland), Eva O’Connor (Ireland) and Mared Llywelyn Williams (Wales), and directed by Muireann Kelly. Performed in Irish, Gaelic and Welsh with English subtitles, the play explores linguistic diversity and the shared challenges of housing in rural regions in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the writers and director of the work.
