The British Council #WeAreEquals music academy reopens its doors online and in Madrid from 22nd to 24th June and the call is open to select the next 40 equalers for this sixth edition, in partnership with the Madrid International Nightlife Conference, the Paraíso festival, shesaid.so and Mondo Sonoro. 

With 150 DJs and producers already trained in three years, WeAreEquals seeks to promote greater gender equality and diversity in the music industry. In previous editions, the Music Academy has shared the experiences of leading figures from the British electronic scene such as Afrodeutsche, Jamz Supernova, Carly Wilford, Steven Braines, LNA, Chaynes, Vicky Clarke, Steffi Allatt and Aalice. 

Run in 2022 by the prestigious Manchester agency, Brighter Sound with professionals such as Jayne Stynes (ex -manager of Gorillaz and Damon Albarn) or Ana Gómez de Castro (Live Nation – she said.so) among others, experts will address the key points of developing an artistic career in the field of management, relationships with bookers and festivals, collaborative networking, communication and marketing and the use of new digital tools. 

The deadline to apply is 9th June 2022 and any succesfful delegates selected from Ireland will join the festival virtually.
