Sustainability Through Festivals: A Collective Approach
We partnered with Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) as part of their 2025 programme on a special panel discussion focusing on how festivals can act as catalysts for improving sustainable practices which took place in The Complex, Dublin on February 26th 18:00-19:00.
Hosted by Megan Best from Native Events and Julie's Bicycle Europe, this an insightful panel focused on how festivals can drive sustainable practices by uniting venues to enhance sustainable production and operations. We supported the mobility of panellist Hannah Cox, UK sustainability expert (The Better Business Network, Glastonbury Festivals, betternotstop). Hannah joined Karen English (Festival Manager, DIFF), Vanessa Fielding (Artistic Director and CEO, The Complex), and Amy Lynch (Event Manager, Lighthouse Cinema) to explore how festival networks and collectives can support these efforts and help achieve collective sustainability goals, with practical applications for the live event and festival sectors. This session delved into the role of festival networks and collectives in supporting sustainability efforts, offering practical strategies for the live event and festival industries.
