About the programme
The UK-IRL Culture Connects Grant 2026/27 is a British Council Ireland initiative delivered in association with Arts Council Ireland. The programme supports artistic collaboration between Ireland and the four nations of the UK, creating opportunities for emerging artists and creative practitioners to connect, exchange ideas, and develop new creative partnerships through in-person collaboration.
Activities supported through the programme may include:
- Research and development of new creative ideas
- Mentorship and professional development opportunities
- Exploring collaborative pathways with producers, organisations, or creative partners
- Experimenting with new technologies, methods, or artistic practices
- Developing initiatives that support creative exchange and international collaboration
Who the programme supports
Тhe programme supports bilateral partnerships between artists and creative practitioners based in Ireland and the UK. It is particularly aimed at emerging and early-career practitioners who are looking to expand their networks, develop their practice, and explore new opportunities for international collaboration.
Grant support
Through grants of up to €3,000, the programme enables participants to undertake collaborative development activity and in-person exchange. Funding supports the practical costs associated with collaboration, including artist fees, travel, workspace hire, materials, and access requirements, helping participants dedicate time and resources to developing their work and creative partnerships.
Programme outcomes
Supported activity will take place between October 2026 and March 2027, providing participants with the opportunity to develop creative ideas, build relationships, and explore future opportunities for collaboration.
